ITOX Launches COM Express Module CP900B Based on New Intel® Core™ i7 Processor and Mobile Intel® QM57 Express Chipset

East Brunswick, NJ – January 7, 2010 – ITOX today launches a new COM Express form factor module, CP900-B, offering higher processing performance, superior graphics display support, and evolutionary memory system and I/O interface improvements. This next-generation mobile module pairs an Intel® QM57 Express chipset with an Intel® Core™ i7-620M or Intel® CoreTM i5-520M processor in an rPGA988 package. These new 64-bit, multi-core processor are built on 32-nanometer process technology and integrate the memory controller and graphics core on-die, eliminating the need for both a Northbridge and Southbridge interface chip used in previous platforms. Placing the memory controller and graphics core on the processor die provides a tightly-coupled, two-chip system architecture, with resulting higher performance and lower power than previous three-chip platform solutions.

In addition, this new platform includes Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology, which enables each processor core to handle two instruction threads and provide a significant increase in performance for multithreaded applications. An enhanced three-level cache subsystem utilizes a first level instruction cache (FLC) and mid level cache (MLC) on a per-core basis, with a large last level shared cache with controls to minimize snoop activity. The combination of hyper-threading with the new three-level cache subsystem insures higher performance at reduced power consumption across a broad-spectrum of embedded processing applications.

Support is provided for up to 8GB of DDR3 800/1066 MHz dual-channel system memory, and one PCI Express Gigabit LAN controller. Additional features include Intel® HD Graphics with VGA and LVDS interfaces providing dual-independent display capability for graphics intensive and multimedia applications. The integrated graphics core also supports Intel® Clear Video technology, Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology (Intel® DVMT), and Intel® Smart 2D Display Technology (Intel® S2DDT).

The CP900-B also provides High Definition audio interface, four Serial ATA ports with speed up to 3Gb/s, Integrated Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) SATA controller supporting RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 10 functions, eight USB 2.0/1.1 ports, up to four PCI slots (PCI 2, 3 interface), 1 PCI-E x 16, and 6 PCI-E x 1 interfaces.

This mobile embedded module board is ideal for applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform, such as industrial control automation, digital signage, medical equipment, and KIOSK embedded applications.
