ITOX Launches Cost-Effective COM Express Module – NP900-B16C


EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – March 5, 2009 – ITOX, a leading provider of embedded x86 products and the United States affiliate of DFI-ACP, today introduces the NP900-B16C equipped with the 1.6GHz Intel® AtomTM processor N270, Mobile Intel® 945GSE chipset and Intel® I/O controller hub 7M.  Exhibiting a total module thermal design power (TDP) of less than 9 Watts, this value-optimized platform provides higher performance-per-watt than previous mobile platforms.

The NP900-B16C provides a 200-pin SODIMM socket, supporting up to 2 GB DDR2 400/533 MHz memory, PCI Express Gigabit LAN controller, and an SDVO port supporting dual-channel LVDS and VGA graphics ports with independent display capability. The COM Express module also supports two SATA interfaces with independent DMA operation, UDMA 100 IDE controller, 8 USB ports, 3 PCIE x1 interfaces, 4 PCI bus masters, and high-definition audio. Expansion support allows additional I/O devices to be configured on the customer’s target baseboard.

COM Express solutions improve time to market for the manufacturer, while reducing development and manufacturing costs. To facilitate designers with evaluation and test of the NP900-B16C COM Express module, the ITOX COM630-B-G ATX development board is available for immediate use in embedded applications. ITOX is committed to manufacturing and supporting the NP900-B16C COM Express product for a minimum of seven years, under our Long-Life Availability program. As new processor and chipset COM Express modules become available, the embedded engineer has the option to upgrade without having to modify expensive proprietary components, or their baseboard PCB.
